ASP – MS SQL:
ASP basically allows you to dynamically generate the HTML that your browser sees. Using server-side JavaScript you can write code that can display information from a database, and even based on your browser send out completely different HTML.

ASP Compatibility
ASP is Micro Soft Technology and to run IIS, PWS we must have Windows NT 4.0, 96 or later respectively. InstantASP is another technology that runs ASP without Windows. An ASP file is just the same as an HTML file and an ASP file can contain text, HTML, XML, and scripts. Scripts in an ASP file are executed on the server.
